Next Memory Cafe on 4 September
In November 2017, we launched our Memory Cafe at St Peter & St Paul’s Church. This is a joint project between St. Peter & St. Paul and St. Mary with St. Alban, organised and overseen by a small working group of representatives from both churches.
The cafes provide a social space for those who are living with memory problems and their carers, and those with any disability or none who enjoy companionship.
The cafe runs on the first Tuesday of the month (1.30–3.00pm) at St. Peter & St. Paul, with a complementary cafe at St Mark’s Church, Teddington on the third Tuesday of the month (11am–12.30).
We have now had five cafes and at each one, our dedicated team of volunteers has created a very welcoming and safe environment for our guests. We serve (free) tea and coffee and cakes and biscuits, and our guests and volunteers alike have enjoyed taking part in quizzes and sing alongs as well as having a good chat.
At our March cafe, we were joined by Sam, a trained Pet for Therapy dog, who was very well received by the guests. Above all, however, it provides the opportunity to make new friends and share experiences.
If you would like to come along or know someone who would, you are warmly invited to our next cafe on 4 September.
