Children's Ministry

Children, you’re a joy! We love having you at church and want you to experience the love of God with us and to join in with all the things we do.

We’d really like you to take part in our services and there are many ways to do this; writing and sharing prayers, serving, lighting candles, welcoming people, and reading.

When you do come, there are some special types of worship which happen just for you:

St Mary with St Alban Church

At 9.00am on Sunday there is a family friendly service with lots of roles for you and a sermon for everyone. It lasts about half an hour and once a month includes Holy Communion. Also this service is followed by Coffee and Craft each week - come over to the Parish Hall straight after the service for parents and carers to enjoy a coffee and a chat whilst you enjoy colouring or a simple craft activity. See just what you can look forward to in this video.

At 10.00am on Sundays we have a traditional Parish Communion service with a special Children's Church group, particularly if you are of primary school age - we all go out of church to the hall during the second hymn and return before Communion. You will love the variety of activities - acting out stories, going on a treasure hunt, playing games, making crafts and more. Join us to experience the fun of growing in faith with new friends. Everyone welcome!

But if you'd rather stay in church, we have a cosy children's corner for you with storybooks and colouring-in all about the bible, praying and worshipping.

Also on Wednesdays at 10.30am, we are delighted to run our popular, weekly Church Mice Service, for babies through to pre-schoolers. Lasting about 20-minutes, with all the usual music, singing, bible stories, prayers and musical instruments enable lots of noisy music making. With free-play and refreshments after the service too, offering a relaxed opportunity for both children and adults, to meet new friends and catch-up with familiar faces. It is wonderful to see all our young friends each week, as well as meet new ones. There's no need to book - just come along!
