Building vital facilities for our community church

Overview

St Mary with St Alban Church has served Teddington for over 800 years - hosting weddings, baptisms, funerals, community events as well as regular church services. Now the church needs our help to make it truly welcoming for all in our community.

This loved historic building has no toilets, social space or facilities to offer refreshments. After years of detailed planning and consultation with statutory bodies and the local community, we have developed a scheme to provide these much-needed facilities. Richmond Council granted planning permission in December 2022.

Please help us raise £1m to begin building work as soon as possible. Donate now.

4 ways this will transform our church:

  1. Two toilets - one accessible, including baby-changing facilities
  2. Multi-use meeting space - for community activities, Children’s Church, as well as concerts, workshops and school visits
  3. Kitchenette – to offer drinks and simple refreshments
  4. Step-free entrance via the churchyard - to enable easy access to the new space from the church and the churchyard

The Archdeacon of Middlesex's sermon on the Building Project

We were blessed to receive The Venerable Richard Frank, The Archdeacon of Middlesex on 23 July 2023 as we launched our fundraising campaign. Listen to his powerful sermon on the immense purpose that our church building serves in our community and why building these vital facilities is so important.
