Our ‘Memory Cafe’ is a joint project between St. Peter & St. Paul and St. Mary with St. Alban, organised and overseen by a small working group of representatives from both churches.

The events provide a social space for those who are living with memory problems and their carers, and those with any disability or none who enjoy companionship.

The cafe runs on the first Tuesday of the month (1.30–3.00pm) at St. Peter & St. Paul and the next cafe is on 5 November 2019.

We have held many cafes now and at each one, our dedicated team of volunteers has created a very welcoming and safe environment for our guests. We serve (free) tea and coffee and cakes and biscuits, and our guests and volunteers alike have enjoyed taking part in quizzes and sing alongs as well as having a good chat.

At our cafe a couple of years ago, we were joined by Sam, a trained Pet for Therapy dog, who was very well received by the guests. Above all, however, it provides the opportunity to make new friends and share experiences.

The last cafe this year will run on 3 December and in 2020, cafes will be held on 7 January, 4 February, 3 March and 7 April.
