Attend Our Churchyard Festival on 25/26 June
Taking our cue from last June when we enjoyed a week of events in our own 'God’s Acre', we will be putting the focus on the churchyard again over the weekend of 25/26 June.
SATURDAY 25, from 10.00am to 5.30pm, there will be talks, a tour and a trail for you to enjoy and take part in:
10:00 - talk on churchyard history ( in church)
11:30 - talk on bees
14:00 - tour of flowers and trees
17:00 - second talk on churchyard history (in church)
All day - children’s churchyard trail
SUNDAY 26, from 10.00am to 7.30pm, we will have services, celebrations, cream teas and flower displays. Supported by St Mary's Handbells and Plain & Pearl:
10:00 - Festival Communion with Children's Church activity
11:15 - dedication of a new sensory area at the east end, thanks to a grant from Richmond Council
All day - Grown not Flown flower displays in church
14:00-17:00 - delicious homemade cream teas and cakes, served in the churchyard
14:00-17:00 - Plain & Pearl Stall, offering vintage craft materials
14:30 & 15:30 - St Mary's Handbells Recitals
18:30 - Churchyard Ecumenical Evening Service
If you can help with any of the following, please get in touch: 020 8943 2262 or email info@stmarywithstalban.org.
- Donating plants for the sensory garden
- Volunteering to help with setting up/serving/clearing up the churchyard teas and/or baking a cake/scones to serve
- Donating cut flowers or greenery from your garden for the church displays, as part of Grown not Flown; supporting more sustainable flower decorations in church. Please keep stems/stalks as long as possible, and bring to church on Saturday by 3pm (buckets of water will be at the back from 10am).
