We celebrated Teddington in Flower this year with our Flower Festival of Favourite Songs. The Festival took place on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th June, with Hand Bell Ringing in the Church and Cream Teas in the Churchyard. Below is a report by Tricia Rawson and a slideshow of images from the weekend.

When we entered St Mary’s for the Flower Festival, the most wonderful scent welcomed us. The Favourite Songs chosen varied considerably from “Swing low, sweet chariot” and “My love is like a red red rose” to “There is a green hill far away”.

The contributions from the Brownies, the Rainbows (see photo in the slideshow below) and Playwam were all imaginative. The standard of the flower-arranging was incredible, and the exhibits included lovely roses, lilies, carnations and delphiniums to name a few, as well as some more exotic blooms. St Mary’s provided a perfect setting, not only for the flowers, but also for the most enjoyable and happy concert on Sunday evening, incorporating all the chosen songs, hymns and choral music.

Many thanks are due to Kathy Gold, and her helpers.
