This year's Christmas Bazaar at St Mary's Parish Hall on 25 November succeeded in raising almost £5,000 with a record number of raffle tickets being sold.

People from across the community contributed their wares including knitted and sewn products, baked goods and pickles and jams, the sale of which helped to raise £4,948.

The team of bell ringers provided a wonderful soundtrack and the magical 'Santa's grotto' team made the day extra-special for children.

The children's craft room was a great attraction with face painting, biscuit decorating, hair braiding and tattooing on offer.

Finally, attendees' grumbling tummies were satisfied with pork cooked overnight, soup, sizzling sausages and mulled wine.
